My daughter is officially in her baby doll era. We went to Walmart today i went looking for wooden numbers and shapes to help with our lessons.
My daughter was walking up and down the aisles, admiring all the toys, some caught her attention, but not long enough she walked away very quickly. As we walked down the aisle with the baby dolls My baby girl noticed the baby dolls, and she saw the cutest brown skin baby with green overalls and the way her face lit up. She screeched “baby” I knew this baby was coming home with us. She carried that doll around the whole store while we finished our grocery shopping.

Since we’ve been home her baby has barely left her side. I usually hold my Zoya as she sleeps, but she prefers to lay in the bed on her own and hold her baby. It was very sweet to witness, but also bittersweet for me seeing my baby grow up. And finding her little spaces of independent.

After an hour of sleeping she realized she was no longer on my chest, and her baby came to lay with me.

Baby steps but I’m kinda hoping this will lead to her sleeping in her own bed in her own room. Fingers crossed for us.
My baby girl is 19 months old, I feel like a blinked and my little girl is now walking, talking, alphabet singing toddler
Now that she has a baby doll, I’m trying to figure out which accessories she needs for her baby. I’m thinking the fake bottles and diapers and etc. Try not to blackout and buy it at all but also remind myself that her childhood is my motherhood and still get her things I want her to have.
I’m so excited to help my baby girl navigate the world of pretend play with baby dolls.
What was your child’s favorite first toy?
